The short version
No accounts, no ads, no third-party analytics, and no tracking. The only information that ever leaves your device is anonymous and aggregate — verse popularity counts and any verse requests you choose to submit — and it is never tied to your name, email, or identity.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, or device identifiers. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics services.
Information stored on your device
- Saved favorites. When you save a verse, it is stored locally on your device.
- Onboarding state. A simple flag remembers that you've completed the intro.
iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud, your saved favorites sync across your devices using Apple's iCloud (CloudKit private database). This data is stored in your own iCloud account. We cannot see, access, or retrieve it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
You can disable this sync at any time in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
Anonymous information the app sends
To power community features, Sendaverse sends a small amount of anonymous, aggregate information to a shared database hosted on Apple's CloudKit. No name, email, account, or device identifier is attached to it.
- Popularity counts. When you favorite, share, or send a verse, the app adds to an anonymous tally for that verse (its reference identifier and a count). This is what powers the Popular screen. The verse text itself is never sent, and counts cannot be traced back to you.
- Verse requests. If you use “Request a verse,” the reference, optional category, and optional note you type are sent so we can consider adding that verse. These submissions are anonymous — please don't include personal information in the note.
We can see the aggregate counts and the request text, but not who submitted them. This data is processed through Apple's CloudKit and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Tips (optional in-app purchase)
If you choose to leave a tip, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your card number or payment details — only Apple's confirmation that a tip was made. Apple's handling of purchases is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Messages (iMessage extension)
The Sendaverse iMessage app lets you insert a verse into a conversation you choose. The app does not read your messages, contacts, or conversations. A verse is only sent when you tap to send it.
Children's privacy
Sendaverse does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13, and the anonymous popularity and request data described above is never tied to identity. The app is rated 4+.
